THE HISTORY ROOM
The complete history centre |
You will find a wealth of information relating to St Helens¡ history in
this small building: screens, photos, working models, and many other bits-n-pieces
will amaze and amuse you.
And if you like booklets, some of the older local identities of
St Helens have provided their accounts and memories.
Want to know more about family genealogy? Then the History Room is also
the place to visit.
The History Room has also made itself responsible for providing visitors
with a series of walks on the Blue Tier where
nature and history combine for a very memorable experience.
So take advantage of the knowledge stored in the heads of those
associated with the History Room and learn about Aborigines, pioneers, tin miners,
Chinese and shipping history.
Guides are also available to travel in visiting coaches. Bushwalking
guides who know the area will be only too pleased to show off the countryside.
If you would like to tour the area on your own, obtain information
sheets from the History Room.
