IN BRIEF The township of Zeehan owes its origins to a silver mining boom in the 1880ēs, when it was known as the Silver City. During its heydey, Zeehan was the third biggest settlement.

Zeehan is now one of the smallest settlements in Tasmania.

The town forms the home base for nearby Renison Bell, one of the worldēs largest underground tin mines.
